Apartment Fire Sparks After Stove Left On In Houston

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on April 27, 2026, firefighters responded to an apartment fire at a complex on Greens Road in Houston.

According to a witness, a resident left a stove on before going to take a shower, which led to a fire that quickly spread throughout the unit.

Video from the scene showed heavy flames shooting from the front windows and balcony area of the apartment.

The resident was assisted out of the unit by a bystander and was seen outside following the fire. No injuries requiring transport were reported.

The extent of damage and whether residents will be able to return to their units remains unclear.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
