Another Dumb Catalytic Converter Thief Gets Trapped Under Car | San Diego

08.15.2021 | 6:30 AM | SAN DIEGO – Residents started to hear a male yelling for help down in the carports of the Mission Heights apartment complex.

They found the male trapped under a Hyundai vehicle saying he could breathe.

Police and Fire responded and as officers were manually lifting the car, a firefighter used a carjack and they pulled the male out from under.

The male was attempting to steal the catalytic converter on the vehicle and the jack slipped causing the car to come and down on top of the suspect.

The suspect suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. He will be arrested at the hospital.

A crack pipe was found on the suspect.

The officers found the suspect’s vehicle down the street and there was a pair of bolt-cutters and other tools that could be used for burglaries. There was also a stolen bike in the back seat.
