Angeles Crest: Firefighters Rescue Couple Whose Car Flew Off Cliff

06.03.2019 | 11:11 PM | ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST – A couple whose car flew off a cliff while traveling on the Angeles Crest Highway was rescued, late Monday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle that had crashed down a cliff along the North Angeles Crest Highway near Mile Marker 31-10 around 11:11 PM.

Due to the steep terrain and isolated location search and rescue teams responded on ground and in helicopter in attempt to locate the vehicle and patients.

Crews successfully located both patients and extricated them using a helicopter before being transported by air to a local hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
