Anaheim: Shooting Leaves Driver Dead, Female Passenger Injured

08.13.2030 | 11:00 PM | ANAHEIM – A man was dead after being shot while driving and his female passenger was injured, late Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting victim at the Arco gas station located in the 500 block of North Brookhurst Street around 11:00 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a male victim in the driver’s seat of the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The female passenger was also injured but it was unclear if she was hit by gunfire or cut by glass.

Firefighter paramedics rushed both victims to an area hospital.

The male victim was pronounced deceased while en route to the hospital. The female is expected to survive.

Initial reports indicate the male victim was shot while driving and the female climbed into the driver’s seat to navigate the vehicle into the gas station parking lot.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation.

No suspect description or motive was immediately available.
