Anaheim: Police Car Damaged After Crash While Responding To Road Rage Call
03.23.2020 | 8:00 PM | ANAHEIM – An police car was heavily damaged after a crash involving another vehicle as the officer driving was responding to a reported road rage call that later resulted in an arrest, Monday night.
Officers were responding to reports of a road rage incident involving a handgun when one officer crashed into a civilian vehicle at the intersection of Anaheim Boulevard and Cerritos Avenue around 8:00 PM.
The civilian in a Dodge Durango suffered only minor injuries and was transported as a precaution.
The officer was not seriously injured but both vehicle suffered substantial damage.
Other officers responding to the reported road rage call located the suspect, later identified as 42-year-old David Park of Fullerton, and placed him under arrest for felony assault.
A handgun was recovered from Park’s possession but he will not face weapons charges because he had a valid concealed carry permit.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
