Anaheim: Peaceful Protest Gets Rowdy, Prompts Arrests
06.01.2020 | 4:00 PM | ANAHEIM – A largely peaceful Black Lives Matter protest got rowdy and ended with arrests after fireworks were lobbed at officers, Monday night.
A group of over a thousand gathered at La Palma Park for a peaceful protest against police brutality, systemic injustice, and the killing of George Floyd around 4:00 PM.
Many of the protesters engaged in a sit-in at the park before marching to City Hall.
As curfew approached officers issued orders to disperse as fireworks were thrown at them.
Several arrests were made for curfew and other violations but a total count wasn’t immediately available.
