Anaheim: Illegal Fireworks Explode, Cause Vehicle To Burst Into Flames

05.29.2020 | 2:14 AM | ANAHEIM – An illegal firework that went off inside a vehicle prompted additional fireworks to ignite causing the vehicle to become engulfed in flames, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 2400 block of West Ball Road around 2:14 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a Dodge Charger engulfed in flames and began efforts to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and determined that the driver and passenger who were traveling in the vehicle escaped without injury.

Officers on scene learned that an illegal firework went off inside the vehicle causing the vehicle to catch fire.
