Alpine: Garage Fire Destroys Cars, Curios

11.23.2018 | 3:25 PM | ALPINE – Several cars and curios were lost after a garage went up in flames, Friday evening.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire in the 1500 block of Blue Lilac Lane shortly before 3:30 PM.

Crews arriving on scene found a detached garage with heavy fire showing and attacked the blaze. Within 30 minutes the flames were out, but numerous items of value were lost.

A Mazda, BMW, several motorcycles, and a 1940’s Lionel Train set were all lost in the blaze.

The owner of the garage reported the fire started after he started on of his motorcycles. He attempted to fight the fire off himself with a garden hose, but was burned during his efforts.

Despite the loss, the owner, Mr. Wells and his wife Mrs. Wells, were in good spirits.
