- On October 5th, 2025, at about 12:22 AM, San Bernardino County Fire responded to a report of a fire within Seccombe Lake Park off 5th Street in San Bernardino.
- The first engine at the scene located an outbuilding that was fully involved with fire.
- After gaining access to the closed park, fire crews were able to extinguish the fire.
- A fire investigator was requested to the scene.
- The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
- The park has been closed since March 2025 for a $13.8 million one-year renovation project.
- Before the closure, the park was overrun by homelessness and drug use.
