8-Year-Old Killed, Five Injured In Perris Collision

An 8-year-old girl was killed and five other people were injured following a two-vehicle collision Saturday evening in Perris.

The crash was reported at approximately 5:30 p.m. on August 15, 2026, at Rider Street and Ramona Expressway.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, responding deputies found five occupants injured inside one vehicle, including two who had suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle was also injured.

All six people were transported to area hospitals.

Eight-year-old Camila Leon of Perris was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. A second juvenile passenger remained hospitalized in critical condition Sunday.

Initial information from the scene indicated deputies performed CPR on at least one juvenile following the collision. One of the vehicles also caught fire after the crash.

The Perris Station Traffic Reconstruction Team has taken over the investigation.

As of Sunday, authorities said no arrests had been made and the cause of the collision remained under investigation.
