72-Year-Old Man Killed In Houston RV Fire

A 72-year-old man was killed after a fire tore through an RV Wednesday night in Houston.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on August 19, 2026, firefighters responded to the 8600 block of Howard Drive after an HPD officer working across the street noticed the RV on fire and reported it.

The officer attempted to help before firefighters arrived, but crews later extinguished the flames and discovered an elderly man deceased inside.

Authorities said the victim was 72 years old and lived in the RV at the trailer park. Family members told investigators they had spoken with him earlier in the day and he appeared to be doing fine.

Family members gathered at the scene as investigators worked to determine what sparked the fire.

The victim’s identity was being withheld pending an examination and formal identification by the medical examiner.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
