DETAILS:
- HPD and HFD responded to reports of a shooting
- Officers arrived to find a 6-year-old boy shot in the head
- child was conscious and breathing
- HFD was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in stable condition
- Preliminary info: A gunfight occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex and carried onto the street
- numerous shell casings from different calibers were seen being marked as evidence
- At least two shooters were involved
- During the shootout, stray bullets went into at least three apartments
- The boy was eating a Happy Meal from McDonald’s when a bullet went into the family’s apartment, striking him in the head

- HPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying the shooters
