4 Juveniles, 3 Adults Injured In MCI Crash | Chula Vista

10.28.2022 | 9:53 PM | CHULA VISTA – A witness told the Police that the driver of the Honda came at him almost head-on at 90 mph as he was heading eastbound on Otay Lakes Rd. The witness was to avoid an accident but saw the driver lose control and went off of the roadway, crashing into the guardrail and a wooden fence. The witness turned around to go and help. The car caught on fire and there were 7 juveniles (4 females & 3 males) inside of the car. 4 of them were unconscious and the others were pulling the unconscious ones out through the windows. After all of the victims were out of the car, the male driver fled westbound on Otay Lakes Rd. Firefighters arrived and put the fire out. The firefighters then started to treat the injured and all 4 unconscious kids regained consciousness. Police officers found the driver walking down the street and detained him and brought him back to the crash scene. 4 juveniles were transported in 4 ambulances. 1 male had a broken arm. 2 were taken to Mercy Hospital. 2 were taken to Rady Children’s Hospital.
