3 Story Geyser After Car Hits Hydrant

 

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10-6-23 | 12:35 a.m.
LOCATION: 500 S Los Angeles St
CITY: Los Angeles
DETAILS:

1. LAFD responded to a two-car crash with one hydrant knocked over
2. Firefighters arrived to find a Chrysler SUV & a Porsche that crashed knocking over a hydrant
3. The water from the sheared hydrant was extremely close to a 6-story building
4. Firefighters were concerned the water would create a flooding issue in the 6-story building
5. Crews had a difficult time shutting off the hydrant but eventually were able to close the valve
6. No injuries were reported
7. It is unclear if there was any damage to the building
8. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time
