3 Houses Burn in Phoenix

Firefighters from Phoenix and Glendale battled a triple house fire near 43rd Ave. and Bethany Home Road.

Crews were dispatched a little before 1am to 4219 W. Citrus Way for reports of multiple homes on fire. Firefighters arrived and found three homes with smoke coming from the interiors. Command immediately balanced the assignment to a first alarm. Crews extended hose lines into the interior of each structure to assure that all occupants had safely evacuated their homes. Ladder companies were sent to the roof of all three homes for vertical ventilation. Firefighters had to mitigate the dangers of down powerlines and broken gas lines during their firefight. At this time, a total of nine people will be displaced. Multiple community assistant program team members were dispatched to the scene to address the needs of all homeowners and occupants. There are no reported injuries and investigators are on the scene to determine a cause.
