3 Dead, 1 in Critical, Horrific Car vs Tree Crash | Chula Vista

02.12.2022 | 3:57 PM | CHULA VISTA – The white sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed and the driver lost control for unknown reasons. The car went into the center divider and went head-on into a tree. 2 males are deceased, one in the car, one at the hospital. A male and a female are in critical condition. All 4 people are believed to be in their 20’s. H St was blocked in both directions. eastbound traffic was closed for approx 45 minutes. Westbound lanes will be closed for an undisclosed amount of time pending the investigation. UPDATE: 5:15 pm All 3 males involved have died, The woman is fighting for her life and there are 2 dead dogs inside the car. UPDATE From CVPD: On February 12th, 2022 at approximately 3:56 pm, the Chula Vista Police Department received several calls regarding a single-vehicle traffic collision into a tree in the 500 Block of East H Street. Police arrived on scene and discovered a Nissan Sentra had been traveling westbound. The vehicle collided head-on with a tree in the center median for unknown reasons. The vehicle had four occupants inside at the time of the collision. Officers and Paramedics responded to provide lifesaving measures to the occupants of the vehicle. The driver ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The three passengers were transported to trauma centers, two of the passengers succumbed to their injuries at the hospital and one passenger remains in critical condition. In addition, there were two dogs inside the vehicle which were both pronounced deceased at the scene. The Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau was called to the scene to investigate the collision. The names of the decedents are being withheld pending notification to family members. The cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
