2nd Alarm Fire Engulfs Housing Development Site

2. Firefighters from seven different cities battled a second alarm fire near 59th Ave and Baseline Rd.
   Crews were dispatched a little before 11:30pm to the area of 59th Ave and Baseline Rd for reports of a structure fire. When firefighters arrived they found multiple homes fully engulfed in a new housing development. Crews laid supply lines, extended hose lines and attack the flames from a defensive posture. Ladder companies set up for a “Big Water” operation to extinguish the fire from an elevated position. Crews will remain on scene throughout the night to extinguish all remaining hotspots.
   The incident eventually reached a second alarm with over 75 firefighters on the scene. At this time it is unknown how many units were affected.
   There are no reported injuries and the Phoenix Fire Investigation Task Force is en route to determine a cause.
