2025 Wings Over Houston Airshow
At approximately 9:00 a.m. on October 19, 2025, thousands of spectators gathered at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base for the annual Wings Over Houston Airshow.
The event featured historic warbirds, modern military jets, aerobatic performers, and a special appearance by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
Throughout the weekend, the skies above Houston roared with aircraft from every era — from WWII bombers to cutting-edge fighter jets. Visitors experienced aerial demonstrations, pyrotechnic reenactments, and static displays honoring decades of aviation history.
One of the most heartwarming moments came during the Make-A-Wish portion of the show, when a young wish recipient was invited onto the flight line to sit inside a restored warbird. Surrounded by cheering spectators, the child’s dream of becoming a pilot came true as the aircraft’s engines powered up and the pilot dedicated the flight to them. The crowd erupted in applause as the moment symbolized hope, courage, and community support.
Organizers from the Commemorative Air Force and Wings Over Houston team also hosted a “Special Show” earlier in the week — a private, sensory-friendly preview for children and adults with special needs. The 2025 show continued its tradition of combining thrilling aviation displays with powerful community outreach, scholarships, and charitable partnerships.
As the sun set over Ellington Field, the Thunderbirds closed out the weekend with their signature diamond formation pass — marking another year of flight, freedom, and unforgettable moments in the Houston sky.
