2 Dead, 3 Rescued After Human Smuggling Boat Capsizes | Imperial Beach

11.26.2022 | 6:00 AM | IMPERIAL BEACH – A panga boat being used for illegal immigration capsized off the coast of Imperial Beach this morning. It’s believed that there were 7-10 men and women onboard. Local surfers helped save 2 women and 1 man. Lifeguards found 2 bodies (1 male & 1 female) out in the ocean. The male was pronounced deceased on the beach and the female had CPR attempted, but she was also pronounced deceased. Lifeguards and helicopters from the San Diego Fire Dept. & the U.S. Coast Guard are continuing the search for any victims on both sea and the beach. There is believed to be one more victim out in the water. UPDATED INFO: 10 people were reported to be on the boat. 2 Dead, 3 Rescued and transported to a local hospital, 4 Detained, and 1 Missing.
