2-Alarm House Fire Ruptures Gas Lines, Spreads To Trees | San Diego
06.12.2022 | 2:39 AM | SAN DIEGO – Firefighters started to arrive at what they thought was a vegetation fire and discovered both a home fully involved and an 80 ft pine tree fully involved in flames. The home had a subfloor and the fire was spreading quickly. The property appears to be a “Hoarder Home”. Access was difficult and a 2nd Alarm was ordered. A Propane tank exploded and the natural gas line ruptured and was on fire as of 4:00 am, the natural gas line was still burning. No one was in the home at the time, as the resident is currently in the County Jail for threatening the landlord with a handgun and he was arrested on June 9th. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the MAST Team. There were no reported injuries. An SDG&E Control Team is present and the neighborhood will be affected for several more hours.
