Boyle Heights: One Killed when Vehicle Crashes Through Rail and Lands On Freeway

LOCATION: Southbound 5 Freeway At Whittier

DETAILS:
- LAFD and LAPD responded to a report of a traffic accident.
- Firefighters arrived to find a solo vehicle had crashed through a fence on the on-ramp to the 5 freeway and landed upside down on the southbound lanes
- At least one person was trapped in the vehicle.
- Firefighters were able to get to the victim using the Jaws of life, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
- It is unknown if there was anyone else in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
- The Sith Street Bridge will be closed for an unknown amount of time for the investigation
