- AZ DPS Troopers responded to reports of a single vehicle collision involving a large charter bus that struck the center divider wall.
- Upon arrival, troopers located an ejected passenger on the left shoulder behind the crashed bus.
- Phoenix Fire crews arrived on scene and began administering CPR.
- The patient was transported to a local trauma center in extremely critical condition.
- Additional fire crews arrived on scene and began triaging the additional passengers.
- Due to the amount of patients, the assignment was upgraded to a first alarm medical response, drawing dozens of Phoenix Fire crews to the scene.
- In total, 17 patients were transported to various local trauma centers.
- The incident has resulted in the closure of several left lanes of eastbound I-10.
- DPS troopers are on scene investigating the collision.
- It is unknown when the scene is expected to clear.
