12 Detained After Human Smuggling Boat Washes Up On Shore

DETAILS:
- 12 illegal immigrants were detained when they beached the 25′ Cabin Cruiser onto the beach.
- It’s believed that either a U.S. Coast Guard Cutter or a Jayhawk Helicopter followed the boat to the beach and had U.S. Border Patrol agents waiting for them.
- There were reports of several illegal immigrants being dropped off at various locations via Jet skis.
- The helicopter spent much time looking for bodies in the water just in case there were any.
- This boat has a cracked hull and will need floatation devices added before the recovery tow company can move the boat off the beach.
- U.S. Coast Guard personnel are present to remove any hazardous waste and gas cans from the beach.
