1 Injured and 1 Dead After Shooting in Phoenix

Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of 2 people shot at a residence in South Phoenix on Sunland Avenue near 15th Avenue.

According to the Phoenix Police Lieutenant on scene, one adult female gunshot victim was transported to a local trauma center and rushed into surgery.

Her condition is unknown.

The second gunshot victim, an adult male, was pronounced deceased on scene.

Officers have surrounded a home across from the homicide scene.

Officers fired less lethal munitions at the home and issued several commands, ordering the occupants to exit.

Officers did not receive a response from within the home.

Special Assignments Unit operators have been dispatched and are prepping to serve a warrant at the home.

Several detectives are on scene.
