1 Dead, Multiple Injured In 3 Vehicle Crash

Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a vehicle collision requiring extrication near the 4500 block of east Greenway Road around midnight.
Upon arrival, crews located a 3 vehicle collision with multiple trauma patients.
1 unidentified victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
At least 3 other unidentified patients were transported to local hospitals with significant injuries.
A hard closure has been established for Greenway Road spanning from 44th Street to 46th Street.
Phoenix Police Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives have taken command of the investigation.
The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours while detectives work to gather additional information surrounding what led up to the incident.
