1 Dead, 5 Injured In Severe Crash

DETAILS:
- Peoria Police and Peoria Fire Medical crews responded to initial reports of a vehicle collision vs a house in the Vistancia community of north Peoria around midnight.
- As units responded to the scene, additional information was received reporting 6 occupants trapped inside a 2 door sedan.
- Fire crews upgraded the assignment to a first alarm medical response drawing a large-scale emergency response from Peoria Fire, Phoenix Fire, and Arizona Fire Medical Authority.
- Once on scene, crews found a black 2 door coupe with 6 occupants trapped inside, that had crashed through a cinder block wall before landing in a residential backyard.
- 6 occupants were located inside, all of which required extensive extrication.
- Several additional ambulances and a medical helicopter were quickly dispatched to the scene as firefighters worked to cut the occupants from the vehicle.
- Per Peoria PD, 4 occupants were transported via ambulance to a local trauma center and a 5th was air-lifted from the scene.
- Their conditions and descriptions are unconfirmed however, radio traffic indicates all 5 hospitalized occupants suffered severe injuries.
- The 6th occupant was pronounced deceased on scene.
- The residence was damaged in several areas from flying debris but neither of the occupants inside were injured.
- Peoria Police Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives are on scene investigating the incident.
