Humble: Fiery Big Rig Crash Leaves One Dead

03.29.2019 | 12:45 AM | HUMBLE – A truck driver was dead after their truck overturned and caught fire, Friday morning.

Authorities responded to the reported crash involving a big rig along the southbound IH-59 Eastex Freeway near Loop 494 around 12:45 AM.

Units arriving on scene found an overturned big rig and trailer engulfed in flames.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire in just over an hour but the driver was believed to have been consumed by the flames.

Initial reported indicate the truck was traveling southbound when it struck an exit barrier causing it to overturn and catch fire.

Officers are on scene continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fiery crash.
