Commerce: Big Rig Hauling Water Catches Fire

07.25.2019 | 4:05 AM | COMMERCE – A big rig hauling pallets of water caught fire on a freeway off ramp, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the northbound I-5 Freeway at the Garfield Avenue off ramp around 4:05 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a big rig hauling pallets of water with heavy fire showing from the truck’s cab.

Firefighters quickly doused the flames, extinguishing the fire in under 15 minutes.

The driver of the truck was able to exit without injury however the truck appeared to be severely damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
