Chula Vista: Home Heavily Damaged, 3 Vehicles Destroyed in Fire

11.20.2020 | 4:43 AM | CHULA VISTA – Residents were woken up to an explosion coming from one of the garages.

The family of 4 were able to evacuate as flames were exploding out of the garage.

Firefighters arrived and got control of the fire within 15 minutes.

The fire spread to a second garage, up to the 2nd floor, and to vegetation outside in the front of the home.

In the main garage was a Tesla, and a Chrysler Pacifica electric van that was being charged at the time.

Both were destroyed.

A classic BMW was destroyed in the second garage.

The house has heavy smoke and water damage and the family will be displaced.

The American Red Cross has been requested to come and assist the family.

Fire Investigators have also been requested and are on scene.
