Car Fire Disrupts Early Morning Traffic

LOCATION: WB I-905 @ Caliente Ave exit

DETAILS:

 

1. Two men were in their SUV driving west on the I-905 when the engine started to act up.
2. The driver pulled over, and a fire started in the engine compartment.
3. The two men got out of the vehicle to safety.
4. When firefighters arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
5. They had just got the fire down when the gas tank ruptured, and the gas started leaking, re-igniting the fire.
6. There were at least two explosions while the firefighters attempted to get control.
7. Foam was used to put the fire out finally.
8. Caliente Ave was closed to all traffic for over 1 hour.
