Body Discovered Floating Near Queen Mary in Long Beach

LOCATION: 450 E Shoreline Dr.
AREA/CITY: Long Beach
DETAILS:

1. Long Beach fire was dispatched to a possible body floating near the queen Mary. The call was made by a passing sail boat.
2. Upon arriving a fire rescue boat discovered a deceased person floating in the water way
3. The body was loaded onto a Long Beach police boat and taken to a nearby dock to be brought ashore
4. According to radio traffic the body may have belonged to a diver in distress but this is unconfirmed
5. The Long Beach police department is standing by awaiting response from LA county coroner’s office
